This unique ski utilizes TNT technology, Elan’s patented Amphibio profile and SST sidewall construction. This unique blend of technologies creates a lightweight ski that’s extremely maneuverable and delivers an ultra- smooth ride; even on the most demanding terrain.
The Ripstick will make history as one the best performing skis for the most demanding terrain. Building off of our patented Amphibio technology, we’ve built a ski that utilizes the most forward-thinking technology, TNT, that allows skiers to take on the toughest terrain with ease.
Designed and built with a passion for fun, Ripstick includes the following technologies
Combining a TubeLite Woodcore with VaporTip Inserts
Direct power transmission to edges
Great maneuverability and no loss in edge grip
Torsional stability and powerful rebound.
Reduce weight, vibration and providing an ultra-smooth ride.
Are advanced composites integrated into the tip and tail of the ski's core. These inserts reduce weight and vibration, dramatically improve stability and ensure a smooth ride; even in the most demanding conditions.
Tip-to-tail carbon tubes run the length of the ski’s woodcore, following the arc of the side. They provide torsional stability and powerful rebound and reduce weight without sacrificing performance.
Thanks to the Amphibio® Profile, there is no compromise between extreme maneuverability and amazing edge grip. The result is “energy efficient” performance that encourages a proper parallel position that enhances technique and the ability of a wide range of skiers even in the most demanding conditions.
Skiers experience the thrill of direct power transmission from the foot to the edge thanks to vertically placed ABS sidewall material above the edges from the tip to the tail of the ski.
Anytime you’re skiing in mountains that have a large amount of vertical, you have the potential of completely different snow types because of temperature and exposure. The turns that you make in the trees could be completely different turns on the upper mountain. So that said, you want a ski that can negotiate those surfaces as you slide down. The Ripstick can ski any type of snow anywhere on the mountain any day of the year.
The Ripstick series is the missing link that I was waiting for! Skis that have great performance on variable snow conditions and especially at high speeds and for extreme terrain. On the other side they are super lightweight and easy to carry up the steepest mountains.
This is one of the best skis I've tried. I found it quite easy to maneuver them either in piste or off-piste. They have a very good grip in harder packed snow and the waist width is suitable for an easy angulation of the ski which doesn't require huge effort. It's at the same time a soft ski that works very well in powder and easy turning, as well as hard enough to be stable on harder snow and higher speed. Moreover, I was surprised of how well the Ripsticks work in the bumps. They get into the turn soon with the enough amount of rocker they have. And I definitely loved them while I was carving on big turns in the groomed run! Awesome skis!
It’s light for a big ski, but feels solid. It turns without effort. It skis like a dream in deep and light powder conditions. It doesn’t buck you when you hit a little wind slab – in fact it eats that stuff for breakfast! And it’s a playful ski too. But what about the people who really matter – our guests? With only a short window of opportunity to have the powder skiing week of a lifetime, the ski becomes incredibly important.
Thee Ripsticks are without doubt a one quiver ski. They are nimble in short turns yet very stable at high speeds and while carving wide arcs. Light weight, float the powder, and blast through the crud. Hands down, the Rip!
Quite simply one of the best skis I've ever skied, the Ripstick 106 is a summation of all the very best to be found amongst 21st century all mountain skis; a carve railer that is nimble, light and low fatiguing yet beastly when stepped on. It does everything asked of it with immaculate precision and style, whether trenching groomers, slashing powder turns, sending a zipperline down the bumps, or catching air. I've not been on a trip without it. The best turns of the day are when the Ripstick comes out to play!
The Ripstick has completely changed what can be considered as a versatile ski. The ability to ski anything confidently and comfortably in any condition, be it high alpine peaks, hard groomers, deep snow, or tight trees makes you a better, happier skier. NASA should start taking notes from the Elan engineers.
The Elan Ripstick is my allround go to one quiver ski. The light weight and strong construction makes it easy for hiking, floating through powder, ripping groomers and blasting through the crud. It was my ski of choice this past winter and will be this winter as well.
What makes the Ripstick truly special isn’t what it’s made of, but where it lets you go and what it lets you do. Now you can take on the toughest terrain in the most challenging conditions with confidence. So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and get after it. Oh, did we mention they rip?
